APA BPD Guidelines (https://www.psychiatry.org/news-room/news-releases/updated-borderline-personality-disorder-guideline) - Finding effective treatment for personality disorders is often difficult for patients, in part because they aren’t sure what “effective” treatment looks like. Luckily, the American Psychiatric Association has compiled the available research and published guidelines for how therapists can most effectively treat these concerns. 

 

Anna Freud Centre (https://www.annafreud.org/) - Anna Freud is a British nonprofit focused on improving research and implementation in mental health care, especially for children. Mentalization-Based Treatment was developed by Peter Fonagy, the Centre’s former CEO,and Anthony Bateman, a professor at University College of London and a consultant to the Centre. Anna Freud continues to be the prime mover in ongoing research into mentalization and psychotherapy. 

 

McLean Hospital (https://www.mcleanhospital.org/video/how-borderline-personality-disorder-treated) - As a frequent contender for the best psychiatric hospital in America and the main psychiatric facility associated with Harvard Medical School, McLean Hospital has been central to the ongoing study and treatment of personality disorders. Much of our modern understanding of Borderline Personality Disorder as a syndrome comes from the work of John G. Gunderson, director of the Borderline Center (now the Gunderson Institute) at McLean Hospital. 


Emotions Matter (https://emotionsmatterbpd.org/peer-support-groups-registration) - Emotions Matter, a nonprofit focused on people who struggle with BPD, offers a variety of online support groups. Though psychotherapy is the central means of treating BPD, participating in a support group with other individuals dealing with the same issues can be immensely helpful.
